Une Ciergerie Parisienne

Our Origins

Founded in Paris in 2020 by Quentin da Fonte, ESKA is a contemporary candle-making workshop dedicated to reinventing the art of the beeswax candle.

From its atelier, ESKA designs and crafts unique pieces that merge innovation and modern aesthetics with traditional candle-making techniques that have nearly disappeared.

Each creation reflects our vision: to bring timeless elegance into today’s interiors while honoring centuries-old savoir-faire.

Naturally Sourced

At ESKA, we work exclusively with 100% natural beeswax, sourced from carefully our french beekeeper to ensure the highest purity.

Beeswax is the only entirely natural, unprocessed candle material that purifies the air as it burns. Its subtle fragrance and warm golden hue require no synthetic additives—these qualities come naturally from pollen and nectar particles left by the bees.

With a burn time up to twice as long as paraffin, beeswax offers a gentle, steady light that elevates moments of focus, celebration, or calm.

Carefully Hand-Made

Our candles are made entirely by hand in Paris. Each cotton wick is repeatedly dipped into beeswax, layer after layer, allowing the candle to take shape over time.

Between each immersion, the candles rest to regain their firmness before receiving the next coat. This patient process results in a slow, even burn and a finish that speaks to the precision and care behind every piece.

A final burn test is performed on every batch to ensure exceptional quality.

A Lost Craft

We proudly use two historic techniques: à la louche (ladling hot beeswax over the wick) and à la plongée (hand-dipping).

Both methods demand skill and attentiveness, creating candles with an elegant, elongated form and remarkable flexibility—able to bend without breaking, unlike those made from paraffin.

By reviving these artisanal practices, ESKA continues a tradition passed down through generations of master candle-makers, offering pieces that are as refined as they are enduring.
